Hello my dears Glamour here and I’m running through a game that someone at work talked up as being ‘better than Diablo’. I didn’t really believe it but I decided to give it the benefit of the doubt…. So I tried it out. Let’s talk about it before I give the final verdict.
With the startup screen everything looks a bit rigid and nowhere near the level of Diablo. You have a choice of male versus female then end up with a comic styled cinematic scene which looks somewhat decent. The story is the world is plagued by spirits possessing the living and the dead to wreak havoc. While attempting to get rid of one such spirit they hang a possessed person. After the spirit tells everyone that his kind thinks the world is theirs’ by right before fleeing. The possessed was cut down and is notified that they are to help in the resistance against the monsters. That person that was hung is of course you (They didn’t even bother to make a female version with only two character options). Aside from that you’re almost hung and people are afraid of you there is no character development. The graphics are lack luster including the map that would fit in the palm of my hand. The objectives are not laid out properly on what little map you can see and there is no option to change objectives or for the objectives to change according to hitting important points in the different quests.
Battle System: The battle system is easy to learn you can compare equipment easily and you can use various weapons including guns. However you don’t really get class specific until later. The idea of choosing the different classes is interesting and customization with that is a good concept but its not well executed… Which is my overall verdict on the game…. If you try to ctrl+alt+delete to access your desktop normally on other games it would usually allow you to get back in easily. If you do it with Grim Dawn the game freezes up which also happens if you try to log off from the main screen. When I pulled up task manager it would say that the program is not responsive. This could have a been a good game but it was poorly executed. I had some hope but it was crap… Last time I take a game recommendation from that guy. If you need me my dears I’ll be playing a couple new games I’ve been running on PS4, 3DS, or even hitting Diablo III waiting for the Necromancer class and the 2.5 patch to kick off! Especially since Grim Dawn was a Grim Disappointment… This game was so horrible I felt like it was my duty to denote just how bas it is…. Honestly my darlings don’t bother with this game stick to Diablo III or…anything else. Good night my dears.
